PUKEKOHE EAST RESERVOIR

At a height of 12m, diameter of 80m and capacity of 50,000,000ltrs, Pukekohe East is one of Auckland’s largest reservoirs. This reservoir ensures security of supply to the southern region and wider Auckland.

‍

Fulton Hogan called in Ian Howe’s experienced concrete pump operators and big reach 47m boom pumps to undertake this technical project.  The challenges faced were access, reach across both floors and roof of the tank, and pumping the specialised mixes designed for the site.

‍

Innovative gate valves were constructed back in our workshop and supplied to site to enable us to pour the concrete stitches from the bottom up.  This ensured a 100% seal of the stitch joints to the water tank.

‍

These large projects benefit from the skill and knowledge of the Fulton Hogan and Ian Howe teams, and all other contractors onsite working together to ensure a successful outcome for the client.
